Yves Durif is a Boutique Salon.

At The Yves Durif Salon, the intention is to craft the perfect balance between Cut, Color and Makeup, with the aim of enhancing the clients’ best features. The goal is not to produce a Haircut – but to deliver a Hairstyle.

Yves' favorite cut is one that looks great, even when you first fall out of bed.…. complete effortless style. The Oval shape is his Guru. All of his cuts aspire to that shape whether long, short, or curly.

Consultation is Yves' obsession – he would never style a cut before being sure that the client knows exactly what is being done.

Yves takes his inspiration from the movie stars of the 60’s such as: Jean Seberg in “Breathless”, Brigitte Bardot in “And God Created Woman” and young French actresses such as Juliette Binoche, Audrey Tautou, Léa Seydoux and Lou Doillon.

We use only the very finest of products– currently featuring L'Oreal's shining star– Shu Uemura along with the recently introduced Hair Rituel, a plant based line developed by Sisley Paris.

We are proud to be a sanctuary for our high-profile clientele, offering them the confidentiality and privacy that they seek and so deserve.

At The Yves Durif Salon, we believe that Hair is your most important accessory.

About yves Durif

Yves Durif's illustrious career began in Paris at the age of 17 inside of the celebrated Jacques Dessange Salon. Through passion and persistence Yves won over the hair and hearts of his clients, and mentors, and quickly became a sought after artist.

At 30, he made his move to New York City where he met Bruno Pittini, artistic director at The Bruno Dessange Salon. Yves and Pittini quickly formed a bond and he often credits Bruno for helping him realize exactly what makes a haircut "work".

In November 1997, Yves Durif opened the doors to his namesake Salon nestled in a landmark brownstone in New York's Upper East Side. In 2008, he moved the Salon to its current location at The Carlyle.

Yves' Talent has been celebrated and acclaimed by celebrities, the beauty industry and top publications worldwide. Featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, Violet Grey, IntoTheGloss, Elle, Town & Country, Rose Inc., Marie Claire France, Travel & Leisure, Harper's Bazaar, InStyle, W Magazine, CNN, MSNBC and A&E.

Beautynewsnyc.com calls Yves Durif "An artist, one of the fashion world's best stylists."

His iconic celebrity clients include Amy Fine Collins, Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC's Morning Joe, fashion's muse Daphne Guinness among many others.

Yves' time in this business has given him a unique perspective on the underlying aspects of beauty and the perception of self. In his free time, he is a dedicated Yoga and Meditation Practitioner, as well as an Educator and Mentor to stylists across the world.

Destination expands the mind and spirit.

Yves chooses destinations that inspire his personal and spiritual life, whether on safari in Africa, visiting the temples of Nepal or inhaling the aroma of Chartreuse in his home town of Voiron, France.

Finding peace and connection in a natural environment– time away from the Salon is for connecting with self, observing the natural beauty in the world and pausing for appreciation.
